Anyone who loves spices will love this shop! A perfect ambiance with expert and very friendly advice awaits visitors. The charming staff not only offers a unique culinary experience with an enormous variety of spices from around the world, but also pampers you with specialty drinks such as ginger iced tea, ginger punch, tea, and various coffees, and in the warmer months, with the fantastic "Frozen Yogurt." This ice cream is truly a treat and also light, as it has significantly fewer calories than regular ice cream. A treat for the palate AND for the conscience! 😁 The owner, Ms. Gerburg Barbarino, is a true expert in all aspects of the products in this spice shop. No wonder, since her mentor is none other than the Bavarian spice king and ginger guru himself, Alfons Schubeck. So, if you're in Altötting or planning a visit there soon, you should definitely plan a trip to this small but exquisite shop. There's something for everyone! Just being captivated by the fragrant experience and being served by the friendly ladies makes it worthwhile to stop by. Last but not least, you can relax on the terrace in front of the shop with a cappuccino or a ginger iced tea and watch the world go by on Kapuzinerbergerl. Have fun, and maybe we'll bump into each other there sometime!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ GREAT SELECTION Although I'm not a Schuhbeck fan, this is probably the cutest store with the friendliest and most competent management I've ever experienced! They take their time to provide the best possible advice and answer questions. It's great that there's always something to sniff and try! Summer and winter alike, the seating in front of the store is very cozy and quiet. A little insider tip—and it's even open on Sundays!

We Munich residents always enjoy shopping at this store in Altötting whenever we're in town. Even during these times of Corona... The staff are incredibly friendly, offer excellent advice, and provide great service. Plus, I always get a little free gift with my purchase! It's just a really nice atmosphere. Today, we picked up a lovingly prepared liverwurst sandwich for our trip. Admittedly, at €4.50, it wasn't exactly cheap, but it helps support the local businesses during these difficult times! And it was delicious! We'll definitely be back!

I was incredibly touched by the blonde lady who worked there on April 19, 2024. I was the first customer and wanted a double espresso to go because I was participating in a city tour. She immediately made me one and gave it to me. The first sip surprised me: it was cold and weak. Disappointed, I held it in my hand for the next half hour, waiting for an opportunity to pour it out and dispose of the cup. As soon as the chance arose, I did so. This was probably about 100 meters away from the shop, but the lady saw me. After a few minutes, I heard someone behind me shout, "Hello! Wait!" I turned around and saw the lady with a cup and a piece of cake in her hand. She ran after me and brought me another double espresso. She apologized and said that she had seen me pour the espresso out. The machine probably hadn't warmed up yet, hence the mishap. I was totally surprised and very touched by so much dedication! The shop itself is very beautiful and inviting and smells wonderfully of a thousand spices. On my next visit to Altötting, I will definitely spend more time there and maybe even give the lady a hug!

The shop no longer exists. It's now called Aromis and is operated under a different name, as of April 2025. Once upon a time, this was a lovely shop that fits perfectly in this location. The spices are always very fresh and excellent. It's ideal for Christmas gifts and small souvenirs, especially before Christmas. Although some people get upset and claim that the shop doesn't fit in with the town, that's not true at all. You have to seriously consider whether you're more used to kebab shops than to such a great shop.
